The Inn Of The Corpse Guest

The third installment of the "Old Corpse Series" is titled "Old Corpse Inn"

In the year 676 AD, during the reign of Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi of the Tang Dynasty, the emperor dispatched Li Chunfeng from the Astronomical Bureau and Yuan Tiangang to search throughout the realm for his tomb to be built a century later. Li Chunfeng set out first, and after a year, he discovered a site with exceptional geomantic qualities. He could not help but laugh heartily, and thus buried a copper coin before returning to Chang'an. Yuan Tiangang traveled the world, seeking dragons and examining sites, but found no suitable location. Disappointed, he turned back and, passing through Liangshan in Qian County, Shaanxi, his eyes lit up. With a cold laugh, he pulled a hairpin from his head and inserted it into the ground before returning to report to the court.

The hairpin was inserted perfectly into the copper coin without any deviation

Future generations mistakenly believe that this is Qianling, but that is not the case. Today, more than 1,300 years later, what one sees here are a few dilapidated houses made of blue bricks. Under the eaves hangs a wooden plaque, darkened by sun and rain, on which the words "Inn" can be faintly discerned.
